Lost Woods

Well, maybe back to the Forest for a little bit

After you leave the castle, you need to go grab a song from Saria that you’ll need to get into Dodongo’s Cavern. Go back to the Kokiri Forest and find Saria waiting for you in the Lost Woods.

Get to the Lost Woods

The Lost Woods entrance is in Kokiri Forest, to the left and up as you re-enter Kokiri Forest from Hyrule Field.

Get through the Lost Woods

The path you take to get through the lost woods is as follows:

Right Left Right Left Center Left Right

Here is the correct path to get through the Lost Woods

Now you must fight a wolf. Using your charge attack is a good way to defeat the wolf. Hold the sword button and then release.

After you defeat the wolf, find your way past all of the monsters in the maze. Before you go up the stairs to Saria, you can turn around and climb a ladder, to access a Fairy Fountain.

You can fall into the hole in this pit to get to a Fairy Fountain

Get Saria’s Song

You can now climb the stairs, fight two more Deku Scrubs (use your shield), and get up to the Sacred Forest Meadow. Talk to Saria there and learn Saria’s Song.

Go to Lon Lon Ranch

After you are finished, head back out of the Kokiri Forest, and towards Lon Lon Ranch. Lon Lon Ranch is right in the middle of Hyrule Field.
