Time to play that Song of Storms

You must now go to the Kakariko Village to find the Lens of Truth. While the Lens of Truth isn’t technically required to beat the game, it sure makes the Shadow Temple a lot easier.

Go to Kakariko Village

After defeating the Forest Temple, Fire Temple, Ice Cavern, and Water Temple, head to Kakariko Village as an Adult. You will see a cut-scene, and then talk to Sheik and then Sheik will teach you the Nocturne of Shadow.

Make sure you have the Song of Storms

If you don’t have the Song of Storms yet, go to the windmill as an Adult and talk to the guy in there. When he is done talking, take out your ocarina. He will teach you the Song of Storms.

Go back in time (Temple of Time)

Now you must go back in time. Go to the Temple of Time and put your Master Sword back in it’s holder. This will take you back in time.

Grab Din’s Fire if you don’t already have it

If you don’t have Din’s fire, head to Hyrule Castle. Climb the vines, and go over the gate and to the right. Now go over to the boulder and blow up the rock with a bomb. This will make an entrance to the Great Fairy Fountain: Din’s Fire. Now stand on the Triforce and play Zelda’s Lullaby to get Din’s Fire. You will need this later to get into the Shadow Temple.

Now go to Kakariko Village as young Link. Go to the Windmill and play the Song of the Storms.

This will drain all of the water out of the well. Now go into the well.

Enter the Bottom of the Well

The whole point of the bottom of the well is to get the Lens of Truth. This walkthrough ONLY focuses on getting the Lens of Truth. There are a few Gold Skulltulas in here as well if you’d like to grab them, but this walkthrough doesn’t cover that.

When you first enter the well, you’ll fight a skulltula hanging from the ceiling. Then, you can walk through the wall in front of you.

As soon as you go through the wall, you should see a deep area of water. You’ll see on the right side that there is a crawl tunnel.

We’ll need to lower the water to access this tunnel.

Lower the water level inside the well

This area with the water is basically one giant loop, and you need to get to the opposite side of the loop and play Zelda’s Lullaby on the Triforce on the ground. This will lower the water level.

Crawl through that tunnel near the entrance

Now go back to where you first entered this large loop (stay on the path where the water was - sometimes there’s invisible holes). Jump down into the drained area and crawl through that tunnel you saw earlier.

Get the Lens of Truth after defeating Dead Hand
Now get the Lens of Truth out of the chest.

After the Bottom of the Well

You could explore the Bottom of the Well further if you’d like, but usually at this point I will just play the Prelude of Light to warp back to the Temple of Time.
