As time went by, Kokiri Forest changed. Instead of a peaceful place,
it is now full of huge man-eating plants, giant monsters, and other
enemies.
To get to the Forest Temple
First of all, make sure you have your hookshot. Check out the Kakariko Village (Adult) walkthrough to see how to get the Hookshot.
Now, you have to find the Forest Temple. It is located in
the Lost Woods. Go through the Lost Woods using the same path as when you were a kid : R L R L C L
R. About halfway through, Mido will block your path, and say only
Saria’s friends can pass. To prove you are one of her friends, get the
Ocarina out and play Saria’s Song.
You can hookshot these huge ogre guys in the backYou will now have to get past 5 huge guards of the Forest Temple. You
can sneak around them or kill them with bombs or your hookshot. When you get to the steps
that lead to the temple, dodge the huge monster’s attacks and go around
him, you don’t have to kill him. Once you are at the Temple, talk to
Sheik and learn the Minuet of the Forest.
Use your hookshot to get into the Forest TempleWhen you are done talking to Sheik, get out your hookshot that you got at
the graveyard. Point it at the tree limb directly above the ledge. Enter
the Forest Temple.
Get key 1 of 3
You will need 3 keys before you start unlocking the locked doors.
You enter the temple in a small field. To the right are some vines,
climb them and kill the gold Skulltula at the top.Climb the vine on the right and kill a gold skulltulaGet on the top of the
tree, and jump to the other limb. On the top of that tree, you will find
a chest with a key inside of it.Get the first key by jumping across to open the chestNow get back down to the ground.
Kill the wolves and enter the building. You enter a room with a big skulltula. You can just kill it with your hookshot (no need to wait til it turns around).
The next room will show a
cut-scene of the ghosts stealing the light from the torches.
Get key 2 of 3
Kill your 2nd skulltula hanging out on the right side of the door opposite the entranceIn the main room, go through the door that is just opposite of the
entrance door. Now you will fight a floating skull. Just stun it with
the hookshot and hit it with your sword. After you kill it, go to the
next room. You will fight the Knights for the first time.Use Deku Nuts to stun the Stalfos Knights and your Shield to block their attacksAfter you defeat them, you will get another small key.
Get key 3 of 3
Now, head back to the main room, go to the big blue block to your right. It has the same engraving of the Temple of Time. Stand next to it and
play the Song of Time on the Ocarina.Play the Song of Time to make this block disappearWhen it disappears, go through it.
In this room, go to the right and up the vines. You might want to kill
the Skulltulas with your hookshot first. You can kill 2/3 of the skulltulas on the vines before climbingAvoid the final skulltula by climbing to the right when it isn’t looking
When you get to the cave entry, go in it. Defeat the 2 floating skulls
to get the map. Then go on and defeat the plant on the balcony. Aim your
hookshot at the target above the other balcony, and shoot it.Hookshot to the silver circle thing and step on the button to drain the wellAfter you
step on the switch and drain the well, jump off the balcony. Before going into the well you just drained, you could hookshot up to this chest and get the gold skulltula on the left.Hookshot to the chest and grab the 3rd gold skulltulaNow you can go into the well you just drained.
Inside the well, grab the 2 hearts and the small key in the chest and climb back up the
vines.Grab the 3rd key in the drained wellAfter that, leave this area through the door.
With 3 keys, open the first locked door
You should be back in the main room now.
Go back to the main room and find the locked door. You should have 3 keys before you unlock this door.
Unlock the locked door with a key. Finally unlock the door when you have 3 keysKill the Skulltula with the hookshot in the hallway. Go to the next room. Go straight,
up the ladder, to the right, up the ladder and to the left. When you get to
the arrows, pull the big block out of its hole, and push it on the arrows. The first block is easy - push pull it and then push it on the arrowsEventually the block will stop - but before you climb on top of it, turn around and
see where the block used to be - there’s a ladder there.Climb this ladder to start pushing the 2nd block
Climb the newly exposed ladder and look for a block to push - push it as far as it will go. Now,
go back down and climb on top of the first block you pushed. Climb up and you should be able to finish pushing that 2nd block.
Climb up and climb up the ladder to a new room. Kill the floating skulls and unlock the door.
Get the Fairy Bow
This might be one of the weirdest parts of Ocarina of Time. Walk through the
twisted corridor, and into the next room.Go through the twisted corridor (you should still have 1 key)Jump to the door and unlock it. Go
down the hall past the black picture and go down the stairs. Open the door.
Fight the skeletons. The skeletons will respawn after ~30 seconds if you don’t kill both of themThis fight is a little harder than the first fight. After killing the first stalfos / skeleton, then two more will spawn. These two skeletons are linked together, so you have to kill them both or they will each respawn. A good tactic is to hit them one at a time, basically spread your damage out so they are both almost dead at the same time. After killing the skeletons, you will get the Fairy Bow and you will need to go back to the room before the twisted
corridor, because we need to get a couple more keys.
Go back to the room before the Twisted Corridor
Look above the entrance to the corridor and shoot the eye with an arrow.Shoot the eye above the Twisted CorridorThis should straighten out the twisted room. Walk through the twisted
corridor to the next room. Get the boss key out of the chest and jump down the
hole. Fight the skulls to open the door. After falling down the hole and killing the skulls you can jump here to hookshot your 4th gold skulltulaNow continue on the ledge to the right of the skull room, kill a deku baba, and you’ll see a room on the right.
you get to a door on the right.Enter this door on the right to fight some hands and get a small keyGo through the door and kill the hands, to get the next small key. Now you should have 1 small key and the boss key, and that’s all we need for now.
Go back (again) to the room before the Twisted Corridor
Exit this room and go through the one on the right. You’ll end up back in this room with the ladders, so climb back up to the twisted corridorYou must go to the room
before the corridor again, so turn right and follow the path until you get
to the eye. Shoot the eye so the corridor is twisted again.
Go back towards where you got the bow to fight 2 ghosts
Now walk through until you get to a picture with a ghost in it. Shoot the
picture. The ghost will now go to another picture. After you shoot all the
pictures on the wall, the ghost will come to life.Stand here to shoot the paintings one at a timeZ-locking and firing
arrows at it while it is visible is the best way to kill it. If you use a Deku Nut it will immediately become visible. Get the key out
of the chest that appears, and walk through the next room.
Go past the opened chest (where you fought the Stalfos Knights) and to the next room. Once again, shoot all of the pictures
with ghosts on them to fight the next ghost. Kill her to get the Dungeon
Compass. Now walk up the stairs and through the door to another upside down
room. Go through the path on the right to get to a locked door. Open it (you
should have a key).Stand on a moving platform and wait until the torch is lined up with the ice switchThis is the cool, but hard part. Stand on one of the moving platforms. Face
to the right and you should see a frozen switch. Get your Bow out. Face the
switch on one of the moving platforms. When the fire on the torch is lined
up with the switch, fire your arrow. It should melt the switch. This will
twist the corridor.
Go down another, newly twisted corridor
Go back to the twisted corridor. Walk to the end and jump through the hole
on the floor.Don’t get squished by the ceilingYou should now be in a room with checkerboard floor. You must
plan your path carefully, as the ceiling is falling and rising. Step on the
switch on the right side of the room halfway to the other side. Also, if you
want arrows, get the treasure chest.
Re-arrange the painting on the ground
When you leave, you will encounter another room with a ghost picture on the
wall. Shoot it with your bow. The blocks will fall from the ceiling. You
must arrange them so they look like the picture on the wall (that you just
shot).Quickly push the blocks to match the painting that you just shot. Ignore the extra piece (it only takes 4 of them to complete it)
After doing that, kill the ghost that appears using the same strategy you
used for all the other ghosts. Get the arrows she drops after you kill her,
and go through the unlocked door. Kill the spider and go to the next room.
On the balcony, there is nothing to do but jump, so jump.
Fight the final ghost
Go to the center of the room. When the ghost splits apart, hit the real one.
You can tell which one is real, because the real one spins around 1 more
time than the other ones. The real ghost will spin an extra timeAfter hitting the real one about 5-6 times with
arrows, go to the elevator that pops up.
Push the rotating room around
When you get to the bottom of the elevator, get off of it. Stand on one side
of the big blocks sticking out of the wall.Push the room counter-clockwise, checking each opening after each pushPushing it long enough will turn
the whole room. Start by pushing the room counter-clockwise, and then after every time you turn the room, you’ll most likely find a switch to hit, or a room to go into. The 5th golden skulltula is found in a room with a big skulltula (up to the right). The 5th gold skulltula is in the room with this big skulltula
Eventually after stepping on enough switches, you’ll open the way to the boss door. You need the boss key to
open this door. Go through it, and take a right until you get up the stairs.
Walk into the area with the paintings and then try to leave. You will now fight Phantom Ganon.
Boss: Phantom Ganon
When fighting him, hit him with arrows 3 times. There are 2 of him, but only
one flies out of the paintings.Prepare to shoot him - he will only come out of one of the paintings at a timeAfter you knock him off his horse, you must
deflect the energy he shoots at you. You deflect the energy he shoots by
hitting the lightning he throws at you with your sword.I like to charge my sword for the first deflect - just be careful the magic balls go a lot faster! After he falls and
dies, the REAL Ganon will talk to you. Get the heart container then walk
into the light.
After you talk to Saria, and get the medallion, you will be back at the Deku
Tree. The Deku sprout will talk to you and tell you the truth about many
things. He will tell you that you must now save Hyrule!
Now, if you have not already, I would recommend getting Epona, your horse.
