Ice Cavern

Back to Zora's Domain - Oh dear, it's frozen!

Now that you have defeated the Fire Temple, you must head to the Ice Cavern.

To get to the Ice Cavern

Ride Epona until you get to Zora’s River. When you get there, go all the way into Zora’s Domain. Play Zelda’s Lullaby to enter Zora’s Domain. Now head up the path until you get to King Zora. He is completely frozen over, so head through the path behind him.

Go past the frozen king in Zora’s Domain
When you get to Zora’s Fountain, look around to the left and you will see a cave. You must jump on the floating Ice platforms until you get to the cave.
Jump Across the Frozen Ice Blocks and enter the cave
When you get there, enter.
Enter the Ice Cavern

Defeat the first couple rooms

Walk through the path and watch out for falling icicles. You’ll get to a room with a bunch of ice monsters, kill all 4 of them to proceed.

Kill all 4 ice monsters to open the door

When you go into the next room there will be a giant ice blade spinning in a circle, collect all 5 of the big silver rupee looking things.

Break these icicles to get one of the Silver Rupees
You will have to break the icicles to find one, and jump off a ledge to get another.
Jump to grab the rupee floating near the ledge

Grab your first blue fire and map

In the next room, jump up to the platform and go to where the blue fire is burning.

Grab the blue fire with a bottle
To melt the red ice that surrounds the treasure chest, use an empty bottle on the blue fire. Now use the bottle with the blue fire in it on the red ice. This will melt the red ice, giving you the Dungeon map.
Dump the Blue Fire on the Red Ice to melt it, and grab some more Blue Fire

Go grab the compass

Now get another Blue Fire and go back to the room with the large spinning blades. Search the wall on the left for some ice that is partially red and blocks a path to a cave.

Melt this ice to the left in the spinning blade room
Use the fire on this ice. This will take you to the room with the compass, a gold skulltula, and a heart piece.
Be sure to grab this heart piece!
Watch out for falling icicles. Break the icicles sticking out of the ground to get to another blue fire. I would recommend having 2 bottles of Blue Fire. Turn to the left to see a red ice blocked by icicles. Break through them to get to the compass. Use the fire on the red ice to get the compass.

Go to the block puzzle room

After you get the compass, you might a well get another blue fire for later use. Go back to the room with the spinning blades. Now search for another ice blocking a cave.

Go to the opposite wall in the big spinning blade room and melt that ice
Use the fire on that. Go through the cave to find a room with spinning silver rupees on pillars. You must push the blue block so you can get to all of the diamonds.

You must push the block in two paths to get all the silver rupees. First, push it forward, and then right (and grab the silver rupee under red ice in the small cave), and then push it right again down the pit to reset the block.

Now you have to get the rest of the rupees, grab any rupees you can as you push the block the following path. From the starting position, push it left (facing from the entrance), then push it right, push it right, push it right, and push it right to finally be under the cave that you need to go to. You’ll need another blue fire so make sure you still have one.

Use these two paths to push the blocks and grab all the rupees

Fight the boss and get your boots

Now you will fight the boss of this cavern - The White Wolfos. Draw it close to you and wait until it drops it’s guard, then hit it with your sword. You can also just charge your sword and wait for it to attack, and then release your charge.

Charge your sword and release it when the Wolfos starts to attack you
After you defeat it, get the iron boots out of the chest. Sheik will talk to you and teach you the Serenade of Water.
Take this shortcut by equipping your iron boots
Goto the start menu, and equip yourself with the iron boots. Now jump into the water behind the chest. Open the door and keep walking until you are out of the water.

IMPORTANT: Get one more blue fire before you leave.

Make sure to grab one last Blue Fire

Take your last blue fire out to King Zora

Now head out of the Ice Cavern (be sure to put on your Iron Boots and sink down into Zora’s Fountain to grab the Heart Piece), and head to King Zora who is still frozen.

Thaw King Zora with your Blue Fire

Thaw King Zora with your Blue Fire (hopefully you saved a blue fire, if not, head back into the Ice Cavern to grab one).

Talk to King Zora after thawing him to get your Zora’s Tunic
After you melt the ice around King Zora, talk to him to get the Zora’s Tunic! Now you can breathe underwater (if you equip it).

Now it’s time to head to the Water Temple, the easiest of the dungeons!
